CityCampKC is back for Year 3!

CityCampKC 2014 is Saturday, May 31st at the Kauffman Foundation. The event runs from 9 to 5, with a social breakfast at 8am and cocktails afterwards from 5 to 7. Attendance is limited and last year's sold out, so reserve your space now.

KC's annual civic unconference. Civic-minded folks gather for a day of discussing, imagining and building.

You are the change you've been waiting for. Come hack your Kansas City. Help create the city you want to live in. The focus this year is on startups & the city.

What to expect...

Participant driven conference

Good to know...

Unconferences are what you love about regular conferences, except YOU help create the content! Unconferences invite participants to share their perspectives, and attendees help determine the agenda the day of the event. Doing it this way strengthens community bonds and allows spontaneous ideas to bubble up. But in the end, it's just way more entertaining than a regular conference. Think of it as a fUNCONFERENCE!

Nope! Most folks will show up to be inspired by other talks and to meet fellow civic-minded folks. You are invited, though not required, to share your perspective by doing a talk or facilitating a discussion.

CityCampKC is open to anyone and all are encouraged to participate. All are welcome and encouraged to attend from throughout the entire metro area. That said, a few usual suspects tend to show up:

  • Techies & Entrepreneurs
  • Local gov officials & staff
  • Community organizers
  • Civic makers, hackers and doers
  • Students & professors
  • Urban planners, designers, architects, developers... anyone whose job actively shapes the built environment
  • Any area resident interested in enhancing Kansas City

The cost is just $30 which, in addition to lifelong memories, gets you:

  • Delicious Breakfast
  • Tasty Lunch
  • Drinks at the Happy Hour (MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER)
  • A commemorative t-shirt

There are multiple formats throughout the day:

  • Ignite Talks are 5 minutes and 20 slides
  • Panels are an hour
  • Discussions are 30 minutes to an hour
